The Virtue Training Bible


The Virtue Training Bible is tool that allows parents and children (and anyone that loves the Word of God) to go directly to the pages of Scripture for instruction in 42 virtues.  The VTB emphasizes worship of our Triune God.  The yellow tabs at the top, right provide further study of the Trinity.

The VTB was designed with John 15:4-5 in mind.  "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing." (John 15:4-5)

The front key of the VTB is a visual index of the virtues that Scripture teaches us to pursue. These areas correspond to color-coded tabs and highlighted text.  VTB Scriptures highlight God’s character, Jesus’ perfect example, and our reliance on the Holy Spirit to produce each virtue in our lives.  Italicized Scriptures indicate examples of biblical characters that highlight each virtue.    

To make a Virtue Training Bible you will use the VTB charts that include over 500 Old Testament and New Testament Scripture references.  The VTB Charts also include three-part prayers for each virtue.  

Each prayer is designed to help you 
“Worship God” (Deuteronomy 6:4-9), 
“Remember Christ” (Hebrews 12:1-2), 
and “Walk by the Spirit” (Galatians 5:16-26).

      Oh I am so happy to see you ask this question... I was just wondering the same thing! I am wondering if it will be too much? Or maybe difficult to distinguish which tab to go to since the same colors are used on each chart (so if you want to look up peace, which is yellow... is it going to be difficult to decipher from pride, which is also yellow?)

      The virtue training cards just arrived in the mail. I am setting a Bible up now. On the intro card it says if you are also using the child training card have the virtue training card taped to the back page of the Bible and the child training card taped to the front page of the Bible.
      I do find it a little difficult to highlight a verse that has another virtue that I know will be highlighted. I struggle to make it one color... LOL So I think having both cards will make it even more difficult to decide (you list the other virtues beside it but... :) sometimes that is a hard choice.

    Emily, once you select the first item, it will take you to their paypal page. You will see, continue shopping...on the upper right hand side of the page, select it and it will take you back so you can select the second item.

    I received the virtue training bible. I am missing the card with the verses for Godly Speech thru Obedience. I received two cards for zeal thru patience instead. What can I do to have this fixed?

    Same issue. I ordered both, but after making the CTB, I'm not sure the VTB will work with the SAME Bible and I really didn't want to have two Bibles with them separated.....hmmmm

    I do not use regular highlighters in my personal bible because the ink bleeds through. Do the highlighters suggested bleed through or are they special bible highlighters?

      I'm planning to use Crayola twistable colored pencils, they do not bleed through. I use them for my bible right now and they work wonderfully.
